C&V first ever NFT

Trend alert

It is not often you see an automotive holy grail, but in places like St. Moritz magic can happen anytime. That night, while The I.C.E. event had to be postponed due to the restrictions occurred for the global pandemia, we had he extraordinary chance to find ourselves face to face with two of them. Two road-legal race cars, one of the 21 Porsche GT1 Straßenversion and one of the 25 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR ever produced where there in front of us. Blinking their eyes at our lenses for the shooting of the year. A surreal concrete-built brutalist look-a-like location, some cool lights, a few Swiss firefighter uniforms and the job was done. As simple as that.

We are born digital, and we believe in art. One of the ultimate trends in the field are NFTs. They are best understood as computer files combined with proof of ownership and authenticity. Like cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, they exist on a blockchain which is a tamper-resistant digital public ledger. But like euros, cryptocurrencies are “fungible,” meaning one bitcoin is always worth the same as any other bitcoin. By contrast, NFTs have unique valuations set by the highest bidder, just like a Kandinskj or a Rothko painting. As NFTs are now shaking up the art world, we decided to create one on your own: an exclusive digital artwork that complements a museum grade traditional print. And – maybe – it will be the first of a long series.

It may be a bubble. But as long as many digital artists/creators have lunged headlong into the craze, we thought it could have been worth to give it a try.

Isn’t that a feast for any insane whips-addicted eye? You decide.
